Day 39 (Saturday, November 6, 2021)

Costs for the Day are in the Table below:

Today, we woke up again at our campsite in the church alcove at Ermita de la Virgen de la Pena. Here is what our campsite looked like in the alcove. The gentleman talking to Bruno on the left is Hector who we met on Day 38 and who climbed with us today on Day 39. The two big black dogs are his and were very well behaved.

After breakfast we made the short hike to the crag and climbed for the rest of the day.

Bi and I did some top rope but also quite a lot of lead climbing and we ended up hiking back out in the dark.

We decided to spend the last night at Rocha de Pena back in Portugal so we packed up our gear and camping equipment and said goodbye to the church.

On the way out of Spain, we stopped in a nice town called Ayamonte by the river and ate dinner at Trattoria Siena. (Cost: 19.60 EUR). The pasta was mediocre but I am told the pizza was very good.

Then we drove back to Portugal to Rocha da Pena and setup camp in the woods in the dark.
