Day 47 (Sunday, November 14, 2021)
Costs for the Day are in the Table below:
I woke up at 7am and went for my morning run and Calisthenics workout. Here is what I did:
Ran 1.29 Miles (0.6 Miles to the Calisthenics Park and back), 4 sets of 10 pullups to chest or completing full muscle up whenever possible, 4 sets of 10 dips from the bar going as low as possible, 100 pushups (25/25/25/25), 4 sets of 8 straight leg raises, 4 sets of 10 chin ups from the bar, 1 minute straight arm planks – Left/Right/Regular doing dips for last 15 seconds, 1 minute flutter kicks, 4 sets of 10-15 second side holds from the bars, 50 inverted rows (20/15/15).
I am able to do decent muscle ups now but still with a lot of leg movement during the transition from pullup to press up. I’ll keep working on this to clean it up but feel like I am making progress. Here is a 15 second video below of my current muscle up.
After my morning workout, I had some coffee and made breakfast. Bi went for a beach/cliff hike with some friends and then had lunch at Campimar.
While she was hiking, Bi had texted me to let me know there were waves at Porto Mos. So, I grabbed my board and wetsuit and hopped on the #2 A Onda bus to Porto Mos. (Cost 1.2 EUR).
The waves were decent size and shape, especially on the far right side of the beach. It was crowded in that area but I caught quite a few nice waves so I was happy with my session. One point of attention: There are a lot of submerged rocks here and they are very difficult to see. I ended up cutting my foot on one of them when I was getting out but it was fairly minor.
After my surf session, I relaxed on the beach for an hour and then took the #2 A Onda bus back to Lagos. (Cost: 1.2 EUR).
In the evening, Bi picked up some wine (Cost: 5.5 EUR) and went to meet up with Sarah, Sylvia, and Zoe for dinner. I didn’t feel up for going out so I made some dinner at home and did some writing.
Really getting fit.
Thanks!
