Day 63 (Tuesday, November 30, 2021)
Costs for the Day are in the Table below:
I woke up at 5:30am, had a cup of coffee and granola and then packed up my surf gear. I walked a few blocks to meet up with Dom and then we drove out to the west coast to check the surf. The forecast was looking great in Castelejo and Cordoama but when we checked the waves they were blown out and messy.
Above is Castelejo on the left and Cordoama on the right.
So, we drove south a bit to check Praia do Tonel. The waves there were about 3-5 feet and much cleaner than the other spots so we decided to jump in for a surf.
Photo of Praia do Tonel this morning is above. I had a fun session and caught a bunch of lefts and rights, mostly staying to the right hand side where the A-frame wave above is breaking. It would have been nice to have a little more power and more of a wall to work from but it was a good time.
After surfing for about 1.5-2 hours, we got out and headed over to Caffe Espresso for a coffee and a pastry (Cost: 10.99 EUR for 2 Capuccinos, 1 Americano, and a Pastry). Then I said goodbye to Dom and walked across the street to catch the #47 Eva bus back to Lagos (Cost: 4.3 EUR).
I got back to the apartment around 1pm and then Amanda messaged Bi and I to go to lunch. So Bi and I biked over to Qwazi Hamburgueria and met up with Amanda. I think the burgers and fries there are fantastic. I would like it even more if they toasted the buns but the hamburgers and chicken burgers are wonderful and the desserts and drinks are also very good. (Cost: 22.60 EUR for 2 Chicken Burgers, a Ginger Drink, and Dessert)
After lunch, Bi and I biked over to the pet store, tibi, and picked up some dog toys, snacks, and a dog sweater for our future puppy. (Cost: 26.15 EUR)
Then we went grocery shopping across the street at Pingo Doce and filled up our backpacks. Their fresh squeezed orang juice is insane and their store brand frozen pizzas are also pretty good. (Grocery Costs: 49.31 EUR)
After shopping, we biked back to the apartment, put away all the groceries, and settled in for the evening.
