Day 75 (Sunday, December 12, 2021)
Costs for the Day are in the Table below:
Today, I woke up at 7:30am, had a coffee and made French Toast with honey and jam for breakfast. Then I packed up my surf gear and checked out the surf at Porto Mos. It was fairly small so I spoke with Sophie and Romain and we decided to go out west to Tonel and Beliche.
On the way to meet Sophie and Romain in Espiche, I stopped off at Intermarche to pick up some fruit, ham, and clementines for lunch at the beach. (Cost: 11.18 EUR)
In Espiche, we all loaded into Sophie and Romain’s car and drove out to Tonel and Beliche. Tonel was 5-7 feet with many close out waves.
So, we headed over to check Beliche which is a more sheltered beach only a few minutes north. The waves were significantly smaller and it was much more crowded but less close out and more manageable for Sophie and Romain.
We surfed Beliche for a few hours and I had a generally great session even with the crowds. There were some large sets that came though every so often but you had to be in the right spot. Most of the waves had shorter rides and would close out after a few seconds but several had good peaks and nice walls that held up longer.
After surfing, we ate lunch on the beach and then headed back.
Romain stayed in Espiche but Sophie came back to our apartment and Bi and Sophie painted nails, had cake and chatted for a while. Then Romain picked up Sophie and Bi and I started cooking dinner.
