Day 79 (Thursday, December 16, 2021)

Today, we woke up around 8am, had coffee and breakfast, cleaned the house, and packed our suitcases.
Then we walked over to catch the Train from Lagos to downtown Faro which takes about 2 hours. (Cost: 14.9 EUR)
From downtown Faro, we took an Uber to Faro Airport. (Cost: 6.53 EUR) We checked with the taxis that are parked there and they would have charged 12 EUR so it’s definitely better to take an Uber.
We booked tickets to London Stansted on Day 53 for 84.93 USD with Ryanair so that was already paid for. We just needed to check in, share our vaccination cards, show our covid antigen test results from the lab and go through security. Then we grabbed some food at Mulligan’s in the Faro Airport. It was bar food but I thought is was fairly decent, especially the fries. (Cost: 25.90 EUR)
After eating, we boarded our flight 3 hour flight to London, Stansted. Fortunately, we weren’t hit with any baggage charges as we had heard Ryanair is particularly tough on this topic.
Once we arrived at London, Stansted airport, we grabbed some food in the lobby at a little shop and ate in the cafeteria area. (10.72 Pounds)
Then we hopped in an Uber to go pick up our new puppy. (Cost: 54.95 Pounds or approximately 64.60 EUR)
Here’s our new family member with Bi on the way to our Airbnb! We wanted to get a Cavoodle since I’m allergic and they do not shed. Also, Bi loved the Cavoodle she used to watch in Australia named Archie so she has been wanting one now for two years. Before we retired, we set aside money specifically for this purpose so Bi has been waiting a long time for this day.
The cost for the taxi to the Airbnb was $80.00 USD since we negotiated directly with him and it was on his way home.
Finally, we arrived at our Airbnb which is just a private room rental in downtown London but it is nice and tidy and the hosts are very kind. (Cost: Airbnb Dec 16-Dec 20 Finsbury Park/ Crouch End Area. $258.69 USD total but Paid previously on Day 62)
