Day 3 (10/1/2021)

Costs for the Day are in the Table below:

Woke up at 7am and hiked down to Praia do Rocha for a surf. The waves were tiny 0.5-1ft so not much luck but it was good to get in the water and watch the sunrise anyway. Also, there were absolutely no crowds as there was only one other person in the water. lol. The water was fairly cool so I used a 2/3 wetsuit which was perfect. You could even use a shorty but it’s fairly chilly with no wetsuit at all.

Afterwards, I came back up to the apartment, showered, and had a nice breakfast on the balcony with a good cup of coffee.

Then I worked on various items like shoring up some issues with our Australian taxes for the prior year and getting our documents together in order to setup a Portuguese bank account.

In the afternoon, I walked over to the beach to check the waves again and talked to some of the tour operators and surf shops about surf spots, snorkeling, paddle boarding, and kayaking in Portimao and also Lagos. Unfortunately, most of the waves are on the west coast – Sagres and north from there up to Ericeira – so I will have to explore day trips. I will look into it further when we go to Lagos tomorrow. On the way back to the apartment, I stopped by the grocery store for some apples and soap (Cost: 3.31 EUR)

In the evening, we had a quite dinner at home and watched a movie.
