This is just a quick post with some of our photos from the Botanical Garden in Malaga, Spain. The garden dates back to 1857 and was initiated by the Loring-Heredia Family with the landscaping being done by a French horticulturist by the name of Jacinto Chamoussent. The estate was purchased by the Malaga City Council in 1990 and opened to the public a few years later. It’s a beautiful place for a quiet reflective stroll and there are a wide variety of flowers, cacti, plants, and trees from all over the world.
The professional looking photos of Bi and I are courtesy of Sam at Bloomfield Photography. Thanks Sam!! I would definitely recommend contacting him if you want to have photos done in Spain as he was fun to chat with and his photos are exceptional. The other photos of the botanical garden that look less professional are my own. lol.
In one area of the garden, there are bamboo forests and I always find these forests particularly beautiful. However, I had never looked at bamboo as closely as I did this time and I was fascinated by the rhizomes and larger segmented roots that appeared to undulate under the surface of the soil connecting all the shoots into one enormous system. It seemed otherworldly.
