Day 13 (Monday, October 11, 2021)

Costs for the Day are in the Table below:

Woke up at 7:30am and went for a 0.62 Mile run to the Calisthenics Park for a morning workout.

Here is what I did: 0.62 Mile Run to the Park, 10 Pullups, 8 Leg Raises, 100 Pushups (sets: 40, 20, 20, 10,10), 12 Back Raises, 40 Sit-ups, Flutter kicks for 1 minute, Left Side Plank for 1 minute, Right Side Plank for 1 minute, Regular plank for 1 minute (All planks done with straight arms and then dips for last 15 seconds), Mountain Climbers for 1 minute, Squat Jumps for 30 seconds, 20 Dips on a bench, 20 Back Rows on the suspended chains. Then I ran 0.62 Miles back to the apartment.

I realized I have lost a lot of upper body strength. A few months ago I was able to do 12 Pullups with 45lbs and follow that up with multiple sets to get to 50 total pull-ups. Now I can only do about 10 with no weight. Anyway, something to work on in the coming days.

Once back at the apartment, I made some coffee and had a breakfast of yogurt and granola. I checked the surf from our balcony and there are some waves at Meia Praia but they seem a bit small so I will check again later.

In the meantime, I finished setting up Wise (previously TransferWise) which we are told is the best way to cost effectively transfer money to our new Portuguese Bank account. For our D7 Visa (Residency Visa), we have to have a Portuguese Bank Account that has sufficient funds to cover our expenses.

In the afternoon, we took a look at two apartments that are for sale. One is just one floor below us in our current building and is listed for 180,000 EUR. It is a similar floor plan to ours but the view and setup is not as nice.

The other was about 20 minutes away from the town center walking but was completely refurbished. It was in a mid-rise apartment building and listed for 140,000 EUR.

After seeing the apartments, we did some grocery shopping at LIDL which is much, much cheaper than SPAR. Grocery Cost: 66.23 EUR. We will not plan to shop at SPAR any longer. LIDL is actually a German discount supermarket similar to ALDI. I found out they also have stores in the US. They are a much more cost effective way to grocery shop than SPAR.

For dinner, Bi made Tabouli, Toast with Cheese, and Sausages with Peppers and Onions.

It was delicious!
