Day 10 (Friday, October 8, 2021)
Costs for the Day are in the Table below:
I woke up at 7am and cooked myself a breakfast of scrambled eggs and toast with jam and a coffee.
Then I packed up my surfboard and bag and headed over to Jah Shaka surf shop for my beach transfer at 8:50am.
The beach transfer and surf lessons were again done by Tiny Whale surf camp. This time our driver was Lola and she took us to a surf spot called Praia das Cabanas Velhas.
Praia das Cabanas Velhas (above)
It is a medium sized beach with rocks and a crumbling wall that may have been an old fort or something on the left hand side. Fisherman were angling there while we surfed.
In the middle of the beach is a fairly sizeable rock formation in the water so watch out for that if you go surfing. The waves broke at several spots along the beach but were probably best on the left. They were fairly small today but sufficient enough to have fun. I caught several decent waves so I was happy even if they weren’t that long as they broke fairly close to shore most of the time.
I surfed all morning, then had lunch on the beach, and the surf school dropped me off back at Jah Shaka.
Once back at the apartment, I met up with Bi who had been on a hike through the nearby beaches with a friend. Check out the photos below:
