Day 45 (Friday, November 12, 2021)

Costs for the Day are in the Table below:

I woke up at 6am and had a quick breakfast of granola and almond milk with a coffee. Then I packed up my surfing gear and walked to the bus stop to catch the 7am Eva bus to Sagres. (Cost: 4.3 EUR each way) These buses, like the A Onda buses, show up in Google which is very helpful. The buses are very nice and clean and you can store your baggage underneath the bus in a compartment before you get on. My surfboard fit easily.

The stop in Sagres is only a 5 minute walk or so to Praia do Tonel which is one of the most consistent surf breaks in Sagres. It is mainly a beach break but the far left side is also a left hand point break. There are a lot of submerged rocks, especially on the right side of the beach so you have to be careful. There are also strong rip currents which are helpful in paddling out but can also be dangerous. Click below to see a 27 second video of the beach which is quite beautiful.

Praia do Tonel, Portugal

I had a good surf session for about 1.5-2 hours and then started getting cold and decided to head home. So, I caught the #47 Eva bus back to Lagos (Cost 4.3 EUR). Once back at home, I rinsed out my gear and made lunch.

Then Bi and I met up with Sarah and Silvia to do some coastal abseiling and scrambling around Ponte da Piedade. It was so much fun! Thanks to Sarah and Silvia for inviting us!!
